The frogs and toads belong to the class Amphibian and to the order Anura. In Costa Rica, nearly 140 species of frogs and toads have been identified; and they are divided into 8 families.

At the Monteverde’s Frog Pond you will find approximately 40 terrariums simulating the habitat for different species of frogs and toads. Admire some colorful frogs such as the famous red-eye tree frog and the blue jean.

Your guide will acquaint you with valuable information about the anurans and the species that are actually endangered.
